Learn about SR 520 Montlake Project with Steve Peer, WSDOT

Steve will provide an update on the recently completed $486 million SR 520 Montlake Project undertaken by WSDOT. This Design-Build project added new infrastructure for both motorized and non-motorized travel along the corridor, including a new eastbound SR 520 bridge over Union Bay. Additionally, the project constructed a new three-acre lid over the highway in Montlake, which features regional transit stops and open green space. East of the lid, a bicycle and pedestrian bridge was built over SR 520, giving cyclists and pedestrians a new crossing option. In his presentation, Steve will cover the project's funding and history, the construction challenges faced, and the innovative approaches used throughout the build.
